VELCRO KITTY WHO LOVES TO CUDDLE

DOB 4/1/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Obsidian, a sweet, calm, and loving Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny black-patent leather coat who loves when Foster Meowmy holds, cuddles, and kisses me. She can do any and all these things endlessly, as far as I’m concerned. I’ll let you in on a secret -- Bombays are often called Velcro cats because we like to stick so close to our hoomans, and I’m no exception. My favorite part of the day is when I’m chilling out in Foster Meowmy’s lap as she gently scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin.

My feral momma birthed Topaz, Jasper, Onyx, and me underneath the seat of an old car parked in a used-car business. Foster Meowmy’s finding us when we were only about  three weeks old might never have happened if she hadn’t been trying to rescue another set of kittens whom another feral momma had birthed outside of Foster Meowmy’s house. The other momma had moved her litter from Meowmy’s yard to inside her neighbor’s car (through the open window, I might add) and ultimately a few doors down to the used-car business.

Imagine Meowmy’s surprise when she found not only the kittens she’d been tracking under the driver’s seat but also my litter under the passenger’s seat!! She gathered up both of our stowaway litters and carefully placed us in boxes on her porch so that we could safely nurse. Our mommas continued to move us multiple times, and Foster Meowmy always managed to find us and put us back in our weaning boxes. Finally, when we were seven weeks old and could eat on our own, Foster Meowmy brought us all inside to the safe haven of her home where she could care for all of us. She even was the perfect feline Florence Nightingale when she administered antibiotic ointment to some of our crusty eyes.

My rowdy siblings and foster mates are fast and furious in their playtimes. I do participate in the frisky mayhem, but I also like to keep to myself and enjoy being a couch potato. I leave being mischievous to the rest of the gang as they try to escape from the foster bathroom. Let them get out! When you’re as placid and laid-back as I am, you cherish your rest and relaxation, and chilling out is much easier to do when they’re not tumbling and pouncing all around me!

I love Foster Meowmy and am so grateful that she gave me a chance at the fabulous indoor life of a pampered pet. Now I’m ready to bring my calm demeanor and affectionate cuddling to my forever family. Could I be the next “baby” you hug and kiss? Or your next lap cat extraordinaire? Arrange to meet me today, and if you’re looking for a pair of kittens, please consider adopting me with one of the other seven #car-stowaways. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together so we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation.
