Hey there, everyone! I’m Cheesecake, a sweet, gentle, quiet black “smoke” Maine Coon mix fella, which means that my fluffy solid-black fur has white roots. The result is a soft, mottled blending of black and gray that just invites Foster Meowmy to run her fingers through my fur as she pets me. I’m an absolute lap-cat who jumps in her lap the minute she gets home, and I luxuriate as she scratches my ears and cheeks. I may have the softest meow, but my purr motor roars with delight as I soak up all her affection.
I’m very bonded to my twin brother Beefcake, and we were rescued as five-week-old kittens who were found with no momma in sight. We were living under the porch in an area where a massive colony of community cats had been trapped, neutered, and released (TNR’d). Foster Meowmy was dropping off the last spayed cat when she saw me, sitting alone on a porch. Since I didn’t run away but let her pet me, she scooped me up and put me in her bathroom. Another trapper came by the same area later in the day and spotted Beefcake, picked him up, and brought him to join me in Foster Meowmy’s bathroom.
Once inside, Beefcake taught me how to be a spicy kitten by puffing up and looking very mean, but when Foster Meowmy swaddled us into purritos using hand towels and massaged our heads, we immediately handed in our feral cards and opted for the VIP life. We balance each other out in that brave and playful Beefcake coaxes me out of my shell so we can tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle. I’m more laid-back, so I teach Beefcake how to cuddle with me while Foster Meowmy’s at work and with her at night.
