DOB 5/1/24
Meow! I’m Penny, a striking torbie girl with a coat that shines like a copper penny. My beautiful, rich coloring and swirling classic-tabby markings are eye-catching, but don’t let my pretty looks distract you from the fact that my purrsonality and value are priceless. They say finding a penny is lucky. But if you happen to find me, I’d say you’re the lucky one.
I’m a social butterfly who likes to make my presence known. I’ll meow here and there to let you know I’m ready for some attention, and once I have it, my sass is apparent. I love affection, playtime, and being part of whatever you’re doing. I enjoy being held and cuddled, and I’m also fond of nose kisses and nose licks—until I’ve decided I’ve had enough. Then I’ll keep you on your toes with a playful little love bite, followed by a love lick or two. It’s my way of saying, “Penny for your thoughts?”
And perhaps the most remarkable thing about me is that, despite my past, I still choose to trust people. Sadly I was rescued from an apartment complex where tenants cruelly harmed cats, yet I remained my wonderfully bossy, affectionate, and curious self—and eager to connect with people. Maybe I really am a lucky penny. Somehow, I found my way out and into a better life and possibly with you.
I’m curious and intelligent. I may not have thumbs, but I’ve learned how to open cabinets. Naturally, I have to investigate and see if there’s any buried treasure waiting to be discovered. I hang out with my foster cat siblings and would be perfectly happy being adopted into a home with other cats. But if I’m being honest, I tend to prefer the company of people and my own dreamy thoughts.
By the way, I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) FIV+ is very manageable, and I should live a normal life span with proper care.
So if you’re looking for a beautiful, clever, playful companion who will keep you entertained and fill your home with fun and warmth, you don’t need to toss a penny into a fountain and make a wish. You just need to adopt me—because I’m one lucky penny you’ll want to keep.
