Here’s Brody, the epitome of a small pup with a big personality! This sweet boy has an "affectionate heart." He is quick to bond, latches to his human, and goes where they go. He lights up when he's around his human. During quiet time, Brody loves to snuggle next to his human on the sofa and, if not allowed there, then he curls up on his dog bed or in the crate.

With a playful spirit, Brody is always ready for tail-wagging fun. He loves to play fetch anytime during the day, but the mornings are his favorite, and he will bring you his favorite toy as an invitation to play. Soft treats are Brody's favorite, as well as real-meat treats.

Brody is eager to please and brings joy wherever he goes. This vocal pup expresses himself frequently with a variety of cute sounds. He squeals when he wants the human's food, yips when he wants attention, growls when he plays and wants to keep his human away from other pups, and belts out happy barks when playing.

Brody plays well with other dogs -- regardless of size. Though he mainly plays with the smaller dogs in his foster home, on occasion he runs around with the resident pups who are much larger than he is. Hey there, everyone! I’m Bubbles, a charming, loving, and friendly tricolor Chihuahua gal who got my name because I’m always filled with effervescent energy and can run like the wind. Don't you love the golden tip on my tail? I luxuriate when my foster mom showers me with plenty of attention and gives me every opportunity to snuggle with her. I love playing with other small dogs but am understandably cautious around larger dogs. I haven’t been around cats, but I’m open to meeting dog-friendly ones.

I was adopted as a puppy, but recently my owner had some financial reverses and could not afford the apartment pet deposit. Fortunately, his kind-hearted neighbor, who happens to be a HOPE cat foster mom, stepped up to the plate and agreed to foster me until I could find a new home.

She has opened up a whole new world for me! I had previously led a sheltered existence since my former owner had never walked me and had kept me on a small patio most of the time. Not only am I inside most of the time now where I can cuddle with my foster mom, but also I’m learning to walk on a leash. I relish all the other people and canines whom I meet on our daily excursions. Even though I’m tiny, nothing makes me happier than for Foster Mom to invest her time and energy into treating me like a big dog.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Cesar, a sweet, friendly, and affectionate red Chihuahua mix fella who flourishes with lots of close family contact. Meet Charles! This stunning boy is large for this breed but otherwise could be the Siberian Husky poster dog. He has a “woolie” coat and, like all Huskies, a double coat.  Charles would do great living in a cold climate!  

Charles is very sociable and can be affectionate and seek human attention too. He is good with children, very gentle. He rarely barks or howls except when he hears sirens when outside.  He is basically low-energy and very calm for the breed.  He will play tag/wrestle-mania with his sibling sister, Mary Beth, which often becomes very animated.  Trips to the dog park, walks in the neighborhood and treats really excite Charles.  He needs some physical activity every day. If given the chance he will escape and needs tall and secure fencing.

Charles would be a great addition to a pet parent that is familiar with the Husky breed and is looking for a new family member. He has spent his whole life with his sibling sister Mary Beth but they do not have to be adopted together as long as he has another large dog in his life.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Gidget, a beautiful, very sweet, and vivacious Manchester Terrier mix who weighed 10 pounds at 6 months old but should grow up to be a sleek, shiny, and streamlined gal who weighs up to 22 pounds when I’m full grown. I’m an affectionate, lovey-dovey pup with my foster mom and her friends, and I also get along great with kids as well as the resident cats and small dogs in my foster home.

When I gambol in the back yard, I move with an easy grace that makes my muscles ripple under my shimmering coat of black with red accents. I’m playful and high-energy at this exciting juncture since NOW my life is a bowl of cherries, but that has not always been the case. You see, when I was about five  months old, a Good Samaritan found me forlornly wandering on the feeder of Highway 288 near Beltway 8. I hate to admit that my heartless owner dumped me and left me very confused, disoriented, as well as vulnerable to being hit by a speeding car! Thank heavens I was rescued and brought to the safe haven of my foster home, where I have blossomed into the confident dog-owner’s delight that Manchesters are known to be.

I’m eager-to-please, obedient, and super-intelligent, so I’m almost fully housebroken and crate-trained, and I’m learning to walk well on a leash. Wanna play!? Then Lola is your girl!  This cutie patootie is all about playing, either with her foster mom or her dog friends at Day Care. She has typical puppy energy, but she’s currently enrolled in obedience class which is helping her to focus and channel that energy into good doggy manners. Lola loves to go on walks where she can polish her leash work, ride in the car, play with her toys, and monopolize the bed when taking a nap. She’s very treat-motivated, and she’s learning to be around cats without barking at them. It’s a work in progress.

Lola was found on the street and was happy to go up to her future foster mom for some treats and turn on the spunk! Hey there, everyone! I’m Lucita, an adorable, very affectionate white with tan Chihuahua gal who weighed 3 pounds when I was two months old but am expected to weigh 8-10 pounds when I’m full grown. Although I’m a little shy when I first meet new people, I warm up quickly once I feel comfy. I get along great with the other small resident dog in my foster home.

The owner of my momma Cleo had financial reverses and could not afford to pay the apartment pet deposit when Cleo birthed my brother Bambi and me. Fortunately, my owner's kind-hearted neighbor, who happens to be a HOPE cat foster mom, stepped up to the plate and got us all into the HOPE foster program to help us find our forever homes.

Beautiful Lucy, a gentle, loving girl who is great with children, enjoys car rides and walks in the neighborhood where she is on squirrel patrol! She especially enjoys going with her mom to dog-friendly café’s with outdoor seating where she gets to soak up the wait-staff’s attention and perhaps have a pup cup. She loves playing tug-of-war in the backyard with any dog toy, and she occasionally goes to the dog park and doggy day care.

Lucy is looking for a new home now that her mom has downsized to an apartment and no longer has a backyard for Lucy to run around in. She was rescued from the street – a car wash to be exact -- when she was just a youngster and has lived with a small dog ever since. 

Lucy’s ideal home would be with a family who would include her in family outings such as trips to the kid’s baseball games or walks along the bayou walking trails.  At the end of a busy day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and some quiet downtime with her people. Meet Mary Beth! This gorgeous girl is on the smaller size for a Husky, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for with her winning personality.  She is very sociable and seeks human attention. She is good with children, very gentle, and very affectionate (and gives face kisses).  She rarely barks or howls, and she is not a good guard dog for alerting to people at the door.  Mary Beth would do great living in a cold climate!  

She is typically high energy and athletic, being both fast and agile.  She will play tag/wrestle-mania with her sibling brother Charles who is twice her size, which often becomes very animated.  She gets really excited when she sees her leash that signals physical trips outside, either a walk in the neighborhood or a trip to the dog park.  She does well at dog parks and is very socialized with other dogs.

Just like her sibling brother Charles, she needs physical activity every day or she’ll become bored.  She is very smart and inquisitive. She loves to "help you" in the kitchen if it means a tasty treat for her.  She is an escape artist and needs tall and secure fencing.

Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Sammy, a sweet, friendly, quiet, and affectionate white Maltipoo (Maltese/Mini Poodle mix) fella who is, in my humble opinion, the world’s greatest little dog. I think my foster mom agrees because she loves it that I curl up and settle in her lap whenever I can. There are two resident dogs and a cat in my foster home, but I’m much rather interact with beloved Foster Mom than play with them.

I have a comical idiosyncrasy: I like to burrow under anything I can move and get under. You name it – bedcovers, blankets, pillows, throws. Foster Mom thinks it’s adorable that a cute little thing such as I am likes to excavate my own little lair like a mole.

Let me tell you a little about Maltipoos. We’re gentle, social dogs who love people. Our happy, cheerful dispositions are guaranteed to boost your mood and make you smile. We can even be good therapy dogs because of the comfort we provide. And I’m no exception to this profile!

I really looked like a mess when my foster mom first rescued me! Oh my goodness – I weighed only 10 pounds! You could see every bone on my vertebrae, plus I had no hair on my back. My eyes were practically glued shut with “goop” from an infection; I also had an ear infection; and my mouth was a mess from neglected preventative dentistry.

Thank heavens Foster Mom and the vet have transformed me into a new man! With a steady diet of nutritious food, I’ve gained 2.5 pounds, I’m filling out nicely, and my fur is growing back! I’m eating a soft diet that’s appropriate after all of the diseased teeth (that hadn’t already fallen out) have been pulled. I look and feel so much better! And the silver lining about having no teeth is that I don't need any future dental cleanings!

Medications have cleared up my original eye and ear infections. The vet also diagnosed that I have a condition called “dry eye,” which means that I don’t produce tears like I should. So Foster Mom puts drops in my eyes twice a day and cleans out any “goop” once to twice a day Thanks to the hair around my eyes being clipped, Foster Mom can clean out my eyes easier. I have cataracts in both eyes so I have very limited visibility and bump into things, but get around once I've learned my way! I generally move slow so I don’t hurt myself !

Even though I sleep a good portion of the day, I am quite aware of sounds and scents. I will sound the alarm at unfamiliar noises. I will track Foster Mom down if she has moved from where I left her using my superior olfactory senses.

My ideal home would be one that has a doggie door to a small fenced back yard and someone to keep me company.  I’m so grateful for all the love and attention that I’m getting! In return, I snuggle and cuddle like you wouldn’t believe! I’ve learned how to use the doggie door, and I’m now crate-trained.

If you’re looking for a cozy lap dog and can look past my limitations, I’d really like to be your dog! Half of my life is still ahead of me, so let’s spend it together! My heart has so much love to give, all that’s missing is YOU!

Susie was found running loose in North Houston and rescued by her foster mom — and she’s been soaking up the good life ever since. She’s athletic, fast, and obsessed with fetch and zoomies. She’d thrive with someone who enjoys daily walks or runs and wants a dog that’s always down for something fun. Susie is also smart and eager to learn, especially when cheese (or bully sticks) are involved. She knows Sit, is learning to wait for her release word at mealtime, and is working on leash walking, crate training, and kennel routines.

Once she’s had her activity, Susie flips into full lovebug mode. She gives the sweetest kisses, loves snuggling on the couch, and will happily curl up next to you (or in your lap) like she belongs there.
